The Board

The Board is responsible for the management and administration of the Society.

The Board shall consist of the following positions:

  • President
  • Vice-President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Committee chairs (Outreach Committee / Membership Committee)
  • Expert Working Group

The members of the Board shall be elected for a term of two (2) years.

The President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer shall be elected individually by a simple majority vote of the society members present during a duly convened General Body Meeting or through an official electronic voting process approved by the Board. Elections shall be conducted in a transparent and fair manner, in accordance with the Society’s election procedures.

The Committee Chairs shall be members of the Board and shall be appointed by the Board members.

The Board shall meet at least three (3) times per year.

A quorum for a meeting of the Board shall consist of 50% of its members.

The Board shall have the power to:

  • Approve committees and working groups.
  • Appoint staff to the Secretariat.
  • Manage the finances of the Society.
  • Represent the Society in dealings with third parties.
  • Make decisions on matters not specifically reserved for the General Body.
  • Oversee the activities of the Outreach Committee.
